Neil Meadows

Neil Meadows is Chief Operating Officer for Queensland Nickel. He first worked at the Yabulu Refinery operation between 2000 and 2003 in various plant management roles before spending in excess of five years as General Manager and later Projects Director for Minara Resources’ Murrin Murrin operation. Mr Meadows returned to Yabulu Refinery in September 2008 in the role of General Manager for BHP Billiton. Since the sale of Yabulu Refinery to Prof Clive Palmer he has accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer and is currently based in Perth, Western Australia.
Trefor Flood
General Manager Operations
BEd
Trefor Flood joined Yabulu Refinery in 2008 as Manager Final Nickel and Utilities before being promoted to General Manager Operations in 2009. Prior to this, he held roles with Minara Resources as Production Superintendent and Process Plant Manager. Mr Flood comes from an extensive mining and resourcing background, having been employed in a range of roles both in Australia and overseas for the past 25 years.
Basil Ahyick
Chief Financial Officer

Basil Ahyick became Chief Financial Officer of Queensland Nickel in 2009 after joining Yabulu Refinery in 2007 as Manager Business Services. Prior to this, he was employed as Manager Finance and Accounting Development in BHP Billiton’s Stainless Steel Materials group. Mr Ahyick has comprehensive experience in the resources and mining industry, having spent the past fifteen years working for a number of BHP Billiton assets across Australia.
Peter Harrington
Ore Supply and Business Development Manager

Peter Harrington is Queensland Nickel’s Ore Supply and Business Development Manager. Mr Harrington has been employed in a number of roles at Queensland Nickel since 2000 including Operations Group Leader, Supply Manager, Technical Services Manager and Operations Manager – Refinery.
David Retallick
Operations Manager
BAppSc (Met)
David Retallick was appointed to the role of Operations Manager in February 2010. Before joining the Refinery, Mr Retallick was employed in the roles of Manager – Ore Processing and Manager – Ore Processing and Organisational Development at Cobar Management Pty Ltd (CSA Mine) in Western New South Wales. Mr Retallick has also previously worked with Mount Isa Mines Ltd, Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter and BHP Temco in Bell Bay, Tasmania.
Sean Coffey
Operations Manager
Sean Coffey commenced employment with Yabulu Refinery in 1980. He was employed in a variety of roles prior to his appointment as Operations Manager in 2010. Mr Coffey has extensive experience in almost all major areas within the Refinery and presently oversees the plant’s Ore Preparation and Utilities functions.
Kim Price
Maintenance, Engineering and Projects Manager
Kim Price is Queensland Nickel’s Maintenance, Engineering and Projects Manager. Prior to joining Queensland Nickel for the second time in 2008, he managed Minara Resources’ Shutdown and Major Works function. For the past 10 years, Mr Price has worked in senior Maintenance roles for companies including Pt Nusa Halmahera Minerals, Copper Mines of Tasmania and Normandy Mining.
Alan Azzopardi
Human Resources and External Relations Manager

Alan Azzopardi joined Yabulu Refinery in 2006. He was employed in a range of professional roles prior to his appointment as Human Resources & External Relations Manager in 2008. Prior to 2006, Mr Azzopardi was employed with Anglo Coal Australia.
Steve Ingham
Health, Safety, Environment Risk and Quality Manager
Steve Ingham is Health, Safety, Environment, Risk and Quality Manager for Queensland Nickel. He has been employed in this role since 2009. Prior to this, Mr Ingham worked at BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam site as Medical and Emergency Services Manager. He also spent four years working in Health and Safety related roles with Transfield Services in the early 2000s.
