Cobalt
Queensland Nickel produces a specialty Cobalt product of high purity, which provides customers with a purified feedstock for the production of cobalt chemicals. Cobalt has a wide range of uses from superalloys to the lithium batteries in mobile phones or laptop computers. It is also one of 27 elements essential to humans – you may recognise it as the central component of Vitamin B12. Technical Data
QN Cobalt was developed by Queensland Nickel to provide customers with a purified cobalt feedstock for the production of cobalt chemicals where it can be substituted for cobalt metal.
QN Cobalt is ideally suited for production of various inorganic and organic cobalt chemicals used in many applications including the production of rechargeable batteries, ceramics and glassware (pigments), cutting tools (extra fine cobalt powder) and synthetic fibres. QN Cobalt can also be used to produce cobalt chemicals such as Cobalt Sulphate, Cobalt Chloride, Cobalt Nitrate, Cobalt Hydroxide, Cobalt Acetate and Cobalt Oxide.
